Submission... it’s all part of the process.

At some point. Somewhere. Sometime in your life. Whoever you are. Whatever you do.

You will have to submit.

Submission of applications. Submission of entries to competitions, grants, or awards. At one time or another, you’ll have to submit.

For me, submissions have been mostly womp womp kinds of situations. I have applied to countless art shows and competitions over the last 25+ years, and the vast majority resulted in nothing more than an updated resume, a tighter portfolio and further experience in writing. As you’ve seen on this site, however, that is not always the case, and every now and then an opportunity comes along that makes ALL of it worthwhile.

This page has a mix of both; some submissions that have led to success, and some that have led to... well, these sketches. Enjoy.
