In 2019, my sister Andrea connected me with her boss, who just so happened to be a country singer as well as an AVP of marketing.

Aren’t they all?

As it turns out, Cowboy Dave Wilson and his band were working on releasing an official first album and interested in commissioning me to create the album artwork. I was more than thrilled to take up the offer, and in talking with Dave, decided to create a cover that celebrates the night life of being a country singer while also showing the freedom of the cowboy life.

As for the album, it’s the honky-tonkin’ barroom brawlin’ dancehall kind of country that is true Americana. According to www.cowboydave.com, “Venture South is an album that pays homage to the vistas of the west as well as the history of the country music genre, melding Wilson’s heartfelt songwriting and storytelling with top-notch musicianship for a truly memorable listening experience. It’s an album made for nights spent in a dimly-lit, smoky barroom just as much as it is for those who long for the wide open spaces and freedom found in life on the trail — so saddle up and head out.”
